My sponge was damp when I took it out of the package. I thought it had some kind of product in it and that's why it was like that. It seems it was damp to keep it soft and flexible since when it dries it gets really stiff and thinner.
It took forever to get it dry and when it did it was only on the side exposed to the sunlight. The other one was as wet as when I left it hours before. So, the best way is to dry it by hanging it. If you don't let it dry completely it gets some dark/yellow spots on it so you have to be careful with that.
Despite that flaw about it easily molding if you don't dry/store it properly, it's a really soft sponge that does what it claims to do. It makes removing masks and other products really easy.
